Medical Assistant

We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. The position is for a full-time front and back office medical assistant for our specialty OB/GYN practice. Applicants must be highly motivated, professional and eager to learn. Also, if you are a recent graduate in a science field looking for experience before applying to medical, physician assistant, nursing school, etc.

this is a great opportunity to get some clinical experience. We are located at the Pan Am building, in Honolulu, but also serve clinics in Lihue and Hilo.

Initial interviews will be completed via phone call. Additional in person interviews as needed.

• Checking in patients
• Scheduling patients
• Demographic entry
• Insurance verification
• Maintaining electronic medical records
• Answering phones and relaying clinical information to our providers
• Speaking with referring offices for relevant paperwork, labs, or past exams

• Taking and charting vital signs
• Phlebotomy
• Completing lab requisitions
• Assisting physicians, nurses and ultrasonographers with procedures and patient care
• Turning over exam rooms and keeping clinic clean
• Instrument sterilization

• Travel to neighbor island clinics to assist Physician - 2-3 days per month

• MA AA Degree or equivalent
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification preferred, but on the job training and certification is offered
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong work ethic and reliability

• Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:30PM
• Saturday 7:30AM - 12:30PM
• Full time, 40hrs/wk
• Outer island clinic travel as needed, after training completed. Travel and parking for outer island clinics paid for by office
