Overview

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology.

Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

Straub's widely recognized Endocrinology/Diabetes team includes a group of trained endocrinologists who evaluate, diagnose and treat illnesses resulting from abnormalities of hormone-producing glands, such as the pituitary, thyroid, adrenal, parathyroid, gonads or pancreas. These health care professionals also treat patients suffering from problems related to osteoporosis, cholesterol problems and diabetes.

• As a Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that Straub patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance  will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff in our Endocrinology department and assist with a variety of administrative tasks.
• Interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records.
• Performing accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers.
• Performing cash handling and collection.
• Demonstrating sensitivity, helpfulness, excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

High school or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical support in a health care setting or related experience. Basic computer skills.

Basic medical terminology. Experience with EPIC. International Classification of Diseases 10th edition (ICD-10) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding certification.
