Our Physiatry department specializes in treating patients who have a wide variety of disorders, injuries or illnesses in the musculoskeletal system. This includes treatments relieve the function or pain in a patient’s muscles, bones, associated nerves, ligaments, tendons, and other structures.
As a Medical Assistant, you will form part of the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff at KMS that provide caring, thorough health services to our patients and their families in our Pediatric Physiatry department. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities for clients of all ages. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications- High school or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (A
-OE) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologist (AMT), OR Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency testing (NCCT), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Registry of Medical Assistants, OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from National Association for Health Professionals, OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification Association, OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Health career Association - Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card
- Must be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period
- One (1) year back office medical assistant experience in an outpatient clinic, physician’s office, or related experience
