First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Business Analyst Officer to join the Consumer Product Ops Department. The role involves assisting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of computerized systems and business processes, as well as improving efficiency and reducing costs through the review of business and application processes.
Responsibilities
:
• Assisting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of existing, new or enhanced computerized systems and business processes.
• Reviews business and application processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Creates test plans and conducts testing for application software changes and/or new releases.
• Develops ad-hoc reports to assist line of business with various reporting requirements.
Qualifications
:
Required
:
• Bachelor’s degree in an information technology related field or equivalent work experience required
• 3 years of professional level experience in applications support or related banking experience required
• 3 years programming experience (i.e., SQL, JAVA, HTML/XML, COBOL, Python, etc.) Required •
• May be completed concurrently••
• Knowledge of the system development life cycle (SDLC)
• Knowledge of mainframe or client server applications
• Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and team building skills and manage conflict
• Skill in understanding and focusing on the business unit needs, establishing credibility and building relationships with business units
• Ability to plan, organize and budget
• Able to handle confidential matters judiciously
• Possesses attention to detail with excellent follow-through
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines to completion in a timely manner with quality results
• Must have strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
• Proficient in using PC’s, Microsoft Word, and Excel and Power Point
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries and Python scripts
Preferred
:
• Coursework or work experience in finance
• Knowledge of the financial services industry (e.g. retail, mortgage/loans/deposits and wholesale banking)
• Business Analyst certification from a well-respected organization (e.g. IIBA)
