We are looking to bring on an Intern
, Environmental Engineer
, or Environmental Scientist to join our team during the summer of 2026. This temporary, full‑time role will last approximately three months, starting in May/June 2026, and offer hands‑on field experience as a valuable contributor to our project teams. The position is based in either our Honolulu, Oahu, HI or Makawao, Maui, HI office.

In this position, you will:

• Serve in a field support role, working on technically challenging projects.
• Assist engineers and Project Managers with planning and execution of environmental programs.
• Assist with evaluation of environmental data.
• Visit airport facilities and construction sites to assist in the field with our airport tenants and construction inspection groups.
• Prepare and deliver a presentation at the end of the summer, including overall internship experience, technical project reviews, favorite project, biggest obstacle, etc.
• Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
• Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
• Possess strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in all MS Office software.
• Possess a driver’s license (highly preferred).
• Be able to work for three or more consecutive months full‑time (minimum 12 weeks).
• Conduct other duties as assigned, which may include field sampling, lifting and transporting up to 50 lbs unassisted, bending, walking on uneven ground, working in the elements (following our Health & Safety guidelines), and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Minimum Skills and Requirements:

• Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree.
• Candidate should be enrolled in environmental science, civil/environmental engineering, natural resources, geology, or geoscience educational program (undergraduate or graduate).

The salary range for this position in Honolulu, Oahu, HI and Makawao, Maui, HI is $23–$26 per hour, based on education, experience, certificates, and market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness.
