Environmental Engineer

Job Description

CDM Smith is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our Water Services Group in Honolulu. This position presents an excellent opportunity for early career candidates to apply their engineering skills to innovative and sustainable water projects and to grow within a dynamic team. You will support the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and associated infrastructure.

Operating under supervision, you will ensure designs meet client specifications and comply with federal, state, and local regulatory standards.

• Conduct site assessments and adjust design parameters as needed.
• Conduct water quality analyses and modeling.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate on presentations for client meetings and industry conferences.
• Assist in creating documents and presentations using tools such as ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other software.
• Participate in fieldwork supporting construction management activities.

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 1 year of related experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Being local to Hawaii is a plus!

• Intermediate knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
• Knowledge of engineering principles of design.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range Minimum: $72,966 | Pay Range Maximum: $120,349
