Overview
PLANNER VI (GENERAL CITY/URBAN PLANNING)
Supervises and participates in the development, analysis and completion of planning projects, or assumes project responsibility for a major special purpose study requiring initial development and management and where assignments are of a creative nature; and performs other related duties as required.

Positions and Departments- Department of Planning and Permitting: five vacancies (1 in Transit-Oriented Development Division; 4 in Planning Division)
- Department of Transportation Services, Transportation Mobility Division: 1 vacancy

- Citizenship or eligible non-citizen status as required by federal law for unrestricted employment.
- Education:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with specialization in city planning, architecture, engineering, economics, sociology, public administration or related field. Foreign credentials require evaluation and may require additional documentation. - Experience:
Four years of professional (post-bachelor's degree, non-clerical) work experience in city planning or related planning activities, including knowledge of planning principles, zoning, subdivision, redevelopment, and supervision.
- Knowledge and experience administering flood hazard regulations or Certified Floodplain Managers (CFM).
- Substitution:
Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning may substitute for one year of work experience.
- Education verification:
Submit diploma and/or official transcript with embossed seal or applicable FCE; electronic copies preferred. Specific submission instructions are provided in the original posting.
- Possession of a valid driver's license, as required.
