Senior Structural Engineer – Jacobs – Honolulu, HI

This role is part of Jacobs, a leading engineering firm dedicated to solving critical problems in cities, environments, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will work on water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems.

Base pay range

$/yr – $/yr

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and construction of water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities, and conveyance systems.
  • Develop project-specific technical reports, calculations, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with local and national experts on multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Provide construction phase support for water and wastewater projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal growth initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a structural engineer.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Structural Engineer (S.E.) license in Hawaii, or eligible to obtain within 6 months.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis; a Master’s in structural engineering is highly desired.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with municipal or industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
  • Experience with heavy civil, dams, hydro‑electric, industrial, or mining projects is considered.
  • Knowledge of construction phase support services for these project types.
  • Experience working in multi‑discipline project teams.
  • Strong team orientation, mentorship capability, and ability to work independently while managing time and budget.
  • Proficiency with structural design and analysis software (STAAD.Pro, TEDDS, SAP
    2000, RAM Elements, RAM Structural System, Mathcad).
  • Proficiency with office programs (Word, Excel, One Note, Teams) and review software (Bluebeam).
  • U.S. citizenship.
