Position: GENERAL ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will solve complex engineering problems through research, analysis, and investigation, and track their resolution.
* You will prepare reports, write informational articles, and initiate process improvements.
* You will lead or work closely with teams from other departments to complete assignments.
* You will serve as advisor, ensuring compliance with policies, guidelines, and standards.
* You will participate in post availability sea trials to support certification efforts.
* You will develop and coordinate training and participate in assessments, surveys, and evaluations related to this training. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585.
* This is a bargaining unit position.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer modifying, developing, or improving ship systems and engineering processes by analyzing engineering projects to ensure efficient and effective surface ship maintenance operations.

GS-11:
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer developing or improving ship systems and engineering processes under supervision by participating in the analysis of engineering projects to ensure efficient and effective surface ship maintenance operations.
