As part of HDR's Transportation Business Group, you'll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. From designing resilient highways and iconic bridges to advancing transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports and marine infrastructure, your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities and quality of life. We bring together planners, engineers, architects, construction management staff, environmental, strategic communications, economists, management consultants and specialists across disciplines to solve complex mobility challenges with innovation, technical excellence, and a deep understanding of community needs.
HDR in Honolulu as a Transportation Senior Project Manager!
At HDR, we're 100% employee-owned and driven by the idea that we can make Hawai'i better—one project at a time. We're looking for an experienced Transportation Senior Project Manager to help lead major infrastructure initiatives across the islands.
In this role, you’ll:- Lead large, complex, multidisciplinary transportation projects from planning through completion
- Oversee multiple high‑impact projects at once while keeping quality, budgets, and schedules on point
- Strengthen client relationships and take an active role in business development, proposals, and strategic planning
- Guide collaborative design sessions with your team, partners, and community stakeholders
- Manage staffing and project workloads with a sharp eye on deliverables and deadlines
- Monitor project finances, lead QA/QC efforts, and conduct key project reviews with operational leaders
- Mentor emerging project managers and foster a culture of excellence
- Master’s degree
- PMP certification

Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 10 years related experience
- A minimum of 5 years project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
- MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be a plus)
- Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
