We're seeking a Sheet Metal/HVAC Divisional Manager in Honolulu, HI to lead fabrication operations, detailing oversight, and field execution for commercial mechanical construction projects.
Impact
Oversee sheet metal operations from BIM coordination through shop fabrication to field installation.
Ensure accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery of fabricated HVAC systems.
Lead teams in detailing, shop production, and field integration.
Drive process improvements and ensure alignment with project schedules and budgets.
Act as a liaison between project management, detailing, and shop/field teams.
Responsibilities
Manage all phases of sheet metal fabrication and HVAC system production.
Oversee BIM and detailing coordination to ensure accurate shop drawings and field readiness.
Lead fabrication scheduling and shop workflows to meet project deadlines.
Coordinate with project teams on submittals, materials, and prefabrication strategies.
Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards in detailing and fabrication.
Supervise detailing staff and shop foremen; mentor junior team members.
Collaborate with leadership on manpower planning and resource allocation.
Drive lean fabrication methods and standardization across projects.
Review project documents and resolve constructability issues proactively.
Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Must-Haves
10+ years in HVAC sheet metal construction, with experience in detailing, fabrication, and field operations.
Strong knowledge of BIM processes and sheet metal software tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Fabrication CADmep).
Leadership experience managing shop and detailing teams.
Proven ability to coordinate fabrication and field operations efficiently.
Familiarity with commercial HVAC systems, assemblies, and installation methods.
Nice-to-Haves
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
Experience with lean manufacturing or prefabrication strategies.
Background in union environments.
Associates degree or higher in construction, engineering, or related field.
