Do you love children, enjoy keeping a kitchen running smoothly, and feel happiest when you're helping others? Our Hawaiʻi Kai Preschool is looking for a nurturing, dependable team member who can support our kitchen and our classrooms.

This full-time position offers the best of both worlds:
✨ A morning spent helping feed and care for our keiki
✨ An afternoon supporting teaching staff and learning hands-on in the classroom

If you’re looking for a meaningful role where every part of your day makes a difference, this could be the perfect fit.

What You’ll Do — Kitchen Support (Morning)

You’ll help ensure our preschoolers receive meals with care and consistency by:

  • Dishing out catered lunch for our keiki
  • Delivering meals to classrooms with warmth and attention
  • Washing breakfast/lunch dishes
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly
  • Supporting safe and nurturing mealtime routines

No professional kitchen experience required — if you’ve fed a crowd, run a busy household, or helped with group meals, you’ll do great!

What You’ll Do — Teacher Aide (Afternoon)

After kitchen duties, you’ll join our teaching team as a Teacher Aide, helping to:

  • Engage with children through play, learning activities, and routines
  • Support lead teachers in classroom prep and supervision
  • Create safe, joyful, caring environments for our keiki
  • Build relationships with children and staff as part of our teaching ‘ohana

Experience working with children is a plus, but kindness, reliability, and a genuine love for little learners matter most.

A Career Path You Can Grow In

Interested in becoming a Preschool Teacher someday? We’ve got you!

  • We will help you earn your Child Development Associate (CDA)
  • After 1 year of classroom experience + a CDA
, you’ll be eligible for promotion to Preschool Teacher ($19–$25/hr)

This role is a great entry point for someone exploring Early Childhood Education as a long-term career.

You’re a Great Fit If You Have:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • A nurturing, patient, dependable personality
  • A love of working with young children
  • A willingness to learn and be part of a collaborative team
  • The ability to stay organized and manage your time across two roles
