Position: Farrington High - Army Instructor (AI), 73156 (2026-00247)

Description

The AI assists with the instruction, supervision and development of students, and the operation of the unit as directed by the Senior Army Instructors (SAI). Although AI primary instructor duties are usually associated with leadership education, the AI also teaches all JROTC subjects. Academic, administrative, logistical, financial support tasks, and after‑school activities are equally shared by all instructors as regular duties.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with instruction, supervision, and development of students under the direction of the Senior Army Instructor (SAI).
  • Teach all JROTC subjects and provide leadership education.
  • Share academic, administrative, logistical, and financial support tasks with fellow instructors.
  • Participate in after‑school activities and other unit operations.
Minimum Qualifications

Possess a minimum of a high school diploma (an associate degree must be completed within 5 years of hire); be a U.S. Army Non‑Commissioned Officer (grades E6‑E9) or Warrant Officer (grades W1‑W5) with at least 8 years of cumulative honorable service; have retired or separated within the past 5 years or currently serve in the Army National Guard or Army Reserve;

and be pre‑qualified by the USACC as a JROTC instructor. For more information on qualification go to.

Payday

New employees can expect their first paycheck within the first 3 pay periods of their start date. Payday is on the 5th and 20th (or previous business day) of every month.

  • Compensation: 12‑month teachers shall be compensated for the applicable Bargaining Unit 05 12‑month salary schedule for working a 12‑month work year.
  • 21 Days of Paid Sick Leave, 14 Days Paid‑Vacation and State/Federal Holidays: 12‑month teachers receive 21 days of paid sick leave, 14 Days Paid Vacation and State/Federal Holidays during the school year provided that all conditions under the respective collective bargaining agreement are met.
