The K-12 Director of Educational Technology provides strategic leadership and vision for the integration of technology into teaching, learning, and curriculum development across K-12. This leader develops and implements the school's educational technology plan, ensuring it aligns with the school's mission, values, and K-12 Student Learning Outcomes.
Reporting to the Director of Teaching and Learning, the Director acts as a vital collaborator between the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO), IT staff, and the Principals' Group. The Director serves as the primary architect of the school's digital learning systems by leading the divisional specialists to drive innovative, effective, and equitable technology use, including the oversight of immersive technologies and student leadership programs.
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership & Vision:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for educational technology that balances operational needs with pedagogical goals.
- Manage the EdTech budget, resource allocation, and vendor relationships (particularly Canvas and Blackbaud), coordinating closely with the IT budget planning process.
- Research, explore, and experiment with innovative uses of technology, including AI/Generative AI, immersive technology (VR, AR, 360), and collaborate with the department of Design, Technology and Engineering in areas like 3D scanning/printing, and robotics.
- Collaborate with the CIO and IT operations to ensure seamless integration and maintenance of all educational hardware and cloud platforms.
- Collaborates with the Principals and Assistant Principals to ensure educational technology goals and operations align with and respond to the needs of each division.
- Oversee the evaluation and adoption of new tools, focusing on accessibility, pedagogical value, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Design and continually improve protocols to provide educational technology support and training to faculty, administration, and staff.
- Lead the effort to showcase the school's innovative programs at educational technology conferences.
- Collaborates with faculty leaders, including curricular chairs, grade level chairs, and department heads to ensure responsiveness to and alignment with goals and objectives.
- Works with faculty to oversee the implementation of educational technology workshops and training across K-12.
- Oversee the management of digital asset databases and the purchasing of hardware/software for academic use.
- Provide high-level oversight for specialized technology learning environments.
- Direct the work of Educational Technology personnel to ensure daily operations meet school requirements.
- Oversee the development of student technology leadership programs to foster peer support and digital agency.
- Coach and model digital citizenship and media literacy, ensuring these concepts are embedded in the student experience.
- Evaluate student learning and technology literacy to ensure students are prepared for a digital future.

Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM; flexible availability required to support school meetings and events - Minimum Annual Salary*: $130,000 - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Educational Technology, Education Leadership, or related field required
- Five years of experience in education, with significant experience in technology leadership.
- Three years in a formal leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated proficiency managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Information Systems (SIS), specifically Canvas and Blackbaud.
- Familiarity with a broad range of operating systems (Apple iOS, MacOS, Windows, Android) and creative software (Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.).
- Experience with AI and AI strategy in an educational context.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and personnel, and to determine immediate and long-range planning requirements.
- Passion for technology and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
