Position: Advanced Specialist, Faculty Advisor -  Sciences

Overview

The Faculty Advisor for Sciences is a key member of the Faculty Advisory Team within the Pearson North America Higher Education Customer Success Organization. They will strategically identify and partner with key course-level administrators, acting as a pedagogical and subject-matter expert on the alignment of Pearson digital products with instructors’ learning objectives and student outcomes. The Faculty Advisor will have expert-level knowledge of Pearson digital implementation models within courses related to their own teaching/research field and will extrapolate those skills into a variety of fields within Sciences and related disciplines that utilize the same core learning tools.

They will investigate and respond to questions with tailored responses for specific audiences and purposes, and will develop milestones to track growth and success using an established rubric and reporting template to facilitate internal and external discussions. The Faculty Advisor will collaborate with other teams to provide instructor-focused insights and feedback.

The Faculty Advisor will equip faculty at pre-identified accounts with the skills and information needed to maximize the impact of the Pearson digital product in their course each term. This includes facilitating face-to-face and virtual trainings or workshops and/or creating implementation-specific product tutorials or videos to support proper rollout and usage.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with course-level administrators, providing discipline experience and digital product knowledge, to advise on the right integration of Pearson digital products and implementation that will best support teaching and learning goals.
  • Consult on digital assessment, grading, and reporting strategies; provide deep understanding and best practices for instructing with Mastering courseware.
  • Consult with customers on modifying or creating content.
  • Create department-specific training resources such as videos, guides, and live as well as recorded webinars as needed.
  • Consult with product teams to advise on products under development.
  • Partner with Sales in campaigns, calls and meetings, demonstrations, and other sales enablement initiatives.
  • Use a set of success metrics and reporting structures to provide customers and internal stakeholders with written documentation of recommendations and the evolution of course design and implementation.
  • Requires some travel to conduct face-to-face training and implementation workshops as well as attend relevant conferences and internal meetings.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in assigned discipline area is required.
  • At least 5 years of full-time teaching experience at the collegiate level, or comparable.
  • Power-user experience with Pearson Mastering.
  • Knowledge and experience in multiple fields in Sciences preferred; experience with Physics, Biology, and/or Geosciences a plus.
  • Online Teaching Experience Preferred; LMS Experience preferred.
  • Experience with Copilot and other Generative AI tools a plus.
  • Ability to engage with international customers in different time zones a plus.
  • Experience presenting at conferences, department meetings, and events.
  • High Achievement:
    Collegiate Teaching Award(s).

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by applicable laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: the minimum full-time salary range is between $68,000 - $70,000.
