, is seeking a Supervising Office Assistant II in Honolulu. This position oversees a clerical support unit and ensures efficient office operations, financial processing support, records management, and customer service for housing and community assistance programs.
- Supervision & Leadership:
Assign, coordinate, and evaluate the work of clerical employees; plan work flow, establish procedures, and ensure quality control; and train staff and monitor performance. - Oversee Administrative & Fiscal Operations:
Monitor housing assistance payment processing and resolve discrepancies; oversee records management, reports, and document control; and ensure proper handling of office supplies, equipment, and purchasing activities. - Provide Customer Service and Operational Support:
Resolve complex inquiries and complaints from the public and program participants; explain policies, procedures, and regulations; and serve as a resource to staff and support overall branch operations.

Education RequirementEquivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
Experience RequirementFour (4) years of clerical experience, one of which shall have involved public contact work which required:
- providing information,
- answering questions and inquiries,
- explaining policies, rules, and regulations in person or by telephone.
Such experience must also include, or be supplemented by work experience demonstrating supervisory aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects.
Substitution:
Business school or college level credits from an accredited college/university will substitute for experience on a month-for-month basis for up to two years of the required four years of clerical experience. There is NO substitution for the one year of clerical experience involving public contact work which requires providing information, answering questions and inquiries, and explaining policies, rules, and regulations in person or by telephone.
Requirement
Notary Public Certification, prior to completion of probation.
