Project Accountant

AHL’s office in downtown Honolulu is seeking a Project Accountant to join our highly creative and collaborative team. The successful candidate for this position will be highly organized, energetic, and team oriented. This person will assist the Chief Financial Officer in all phases of accounting as required. AHL offers a hybrid office/remote schedule of three days in the office, two days remote, and a flexible 4-1/2 day work week option.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in project accounting.
• Prior experience in architecture, engineering, and construction accounting is a plus.

• General knowledge of accounting and project accounting procedures.
• Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of project management accounting software.
• Working knowledge of Deltek Vision or Vantage Point is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills, work with a high level of detail, and can handle multiple tasks.

• Proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Ability to prepare project budgets, financial forecasts, and tax reports such as the Hawaii General Excise Tax.
• Exercises discretion and independent judgement with respect to accounting and other significant matters of office management and/or operations.
• Responsible for processing consultant billings as it pertains to projects and reconciliation of consultant agreements to payments.
• Responsible for the complete monthly billing process including preparation of monthly client invoices, lien waivers, and interpreting contracts and proposals for billing purposes.
• Monitoring receivable income and supporting project managers with collections.
• This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with project managers.

Salary Range: $62,000 to $73,000
