Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves managing high volumes of invoices, ensuring accuracy in data entry, and resolving discrepancies effectively. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Enter and process over 1,000 invoices monthly with accuracy and attention to detail.

- Perform 2-way matching of purchase orders and invoices, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

- Collaborate with the service department to address incomplete purchase orders before invoice processing.

- Research and troubleshoot issues related to invoice and PO discrepancies.

- Utilize ViewPoint Vista software for accounts payable tasks; training will be provided if necessary.

- Apply appropriate coding to invoices and ensure compliance with company standards.

- Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions and documentation.

- Use Microsoft Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and SUMIF to analyze and manage data.

- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of invoice-related issues.

- Support overall accounts payable operations to meet deadlines and maintain efficiency.

Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or similar invoice processing roles.

- Familiarity with 2-way or 3-way matching processes involving purchase orders and invoices.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions like VLOOKUP and SUMIF.

- Ability to work with accounting software; experience with ViewPoint Vista is a plus.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Excellent problem-solving abilities to resolve invoice discrepancies.

- Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal departments.

- Capacity to handle high volumes of invoices in a fast-paced environment.
