Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this role, you will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and contribute to the overall efficiency of accounting processes. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate records and supporting the organization's financial health.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct cash management activities, including audits, deposits, and reconciliations.

- Implement and monitor internal controls for purchasing, payroll, and asset management.

- Perform timely reconciliations for accounts and credit cards.

- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

- Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and variance analyses.

- Support budget development and forecasting efforts.

- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and audit requirements.

- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

- Take on additional accounting responsibilities as needed.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating attention to detail.

- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in property or hospitality sectors.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with accounting software is advantageous.

- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

- Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial work.

- Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, journal entries, and general ledger processes.
