Position: ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC with Security Clearance
Duties Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot and repair a complete missile and ordnance system including support and test equipment consisting of numerous complex integrated components requiring knowledge of a wide range of electronics principles and practices. Interpret complex drawings, specifications schematics and perform intricate shop mathematics for complete systems to test functionality and interconnections of the various assemblies. Request disposition of unserviceable munitions items by initiating the Ammunitions Disposition Request (ADR) process for the Munitions Accountable Systems Officer (MASO) to review, approve, and forward to Ammunition Control Point (ACP) for disposition instructions.

Pack/re-pack ordnance for preservation, moisture abatement and safe storage according to special packaging instructions and applies required container markings to meet exacting standards. Test, assemble/disassemble, build multiple family groups of bombs utilizing technical data to determine fuse settings, fin configuration and mission set supporting scheduled sortie generation operations for the wings flying mission. * This is a testing designated position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing
* May be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY) away from the normal duty station
* May be required to secure a valid state, commercial driver's license with hazardous materials endorsement
* May be required to work overtime to meet workload demands. May be subject to shift work and uncommon tours of duty

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook Federal Wage System (FWS) for the WG-6600 Aircraft Overhaul Family . Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. JOB ELEMENTS:
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to do the work of an Ordnance Equipment Mechanic, WG-6641-10, without more than normal supervision (SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT). 2. Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation and repair associated with Ordnance Equipment Mechanic trade such as but not limited to reprograming, testing, assembling, disassembling and performing component replacement for Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground ordnance systems.
