Overview

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.

The PSR I will demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment. Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.

• Represent the company to patients in person, explaining procedures and providing service with professionalism and courtesy.
• Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
• Interact with patients to establish trust and confidence, ensuring explanations are clear and procedures are performed safely and accurately.
• Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors with a focus on process excellence and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment; represent the organization positively to patients, clients, employees and the public.
• Complete required records and documentation as part of duties.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Minimum of 6 months experience required; 1+ years phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric populations.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience required.
• Shift/Time Zone: 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with rotational Saturdays.

401(k) Plan: The Synectics Inc. Investment Savings Retirement Plan. Enrollment dates are January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st for eligible employees 21 years or older, on or after 30 days from employment.

Technical Certification Bonus: Up to $500 for an approved professional certification related to the current position. Bonus is awarded 90 days after the office receives documentation of successful completion. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year per employee. Current, active employees only.
