The pharmacy technician prepares and distributes medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. These duties include but are not limited to:

• Filling and labeling medications
• Refilling Pyxis
• Delivering medications to patient care areas
• Preparing IV admixture solutions
• Answering the telephone and directing the call to the appropriate staff
• Maintaining medication stock levels and proper storage of medications to ensure safe and cost-effective pharmaceutical services
• Proficient in basic computer skills and appropriately using information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks

Estimated pay range for this position is $18.87 - $24.53 / hour depending on experience.

Degrees:

• High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Registered Pharmacy Technician.

• One year pharmacy hospital technician experience (or equivalent experience) or graduate of the BHSF Pharmacy Technician Program.
• PTCB or ExCPT Certification preferred and required within the year for sterile compounding.
