Lead Microsoft Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Microsoft Cloud Engineer to drive enterprise-wide Microsoft infrastructure modernization initiatives. This role will lead architectural design, migration, and security hardening efforts across Active Directory, Entra , Microsoft 365, and Azure environments. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise combined with strong project leadership experience in complex enterprise ecosystems.

• Conduct architectural assessments and design solutions across Active Directory, Entra , Azure, and hybrid identity environments
• Lead M365, Exchange Online, and Azure migration initiatives including coexistence planning and phased adoption
• Drive security hardening initiatives aligned with Zero Trust principles, identity governance, Conditional Access, MFA, and PIM
• Implement advanced Power Shell automation across AD, Entra , Exchange Online, and server/cloud workflows
• Partner with business stakeholders and Infrastructure teams to guide proof-of-concept initiatives through enterprise adoption
• Ensure backup, disaster recovery validation, and operational resilience across identity and messaging platforms
• Develop documentation, architectural diagrams, operational runbooks, and technical standards
• Lead modernization initiatives and drive cross-functional collaboration in enterprise environments

• 10+ years of experience with Microsoft Infrastructure technologies in enterprise-scale environments
• Expert-level proficiency in Windows Server and Active Directory (forest/domain design, GPO, multi-site replication, troubleshooting, security hardening)
• Deep knowledge of Entra , Microsoft 365, Exchange (on-prem & online), and hybrid identity integrations including Entra Connect/Sync and SSO patterns
• Proven experience leading Azure and M365 migration projects
• Advanced Power Shell scripting and automation expertise
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust architecture and identity lifecycle management
• 5+ years leading complex IT projects with exposure to Agile, Dev Ops, or ITIL frameworks
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Microsoft certifications (Azure Administrator/Architect, M365, Entra ) highly preferred

Estimated hourly range: $70–$80/hr (W-2).

Final rate within this range will be based on skills, experience, certifications, and interview performance.
