Position SummaryThe Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist will provide patient-centered hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and follow-up care in alignment with hospital standards and state licensure requirements. The role works closely with audiologists and other clinical teams to deliver coordinated care for outpatient populations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive hearing aid assessments and hearing aid fittings.
- Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, device use, and communication strategies.
- Collaborate with audiologists, otolaryngologists, and primary care providers to ensure integrated care.
- Manage follow-up appointments, adjustments, and repair coordination.
- Document services accurately within the hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulations governing hearing aid dispensing.
- Active Hearing Instrument Specialist license (Massachusetts) required.
- Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare or audiology setting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a multicultural patient base and varied payor mix.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical documentation skills.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to patient advocacy.
- Associates Degree;
