Electrical Field Engineer

Job Summary – Electrical Field Engineer (National Grid Generation LLC – Holtsville, NY)

• Provide technical expertise in Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems for modernization of LNG facility
• Review and comment on engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents for compliance with codes and client requirements
• Oversee contractor operations to ensure conformance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards for electrical and instrumentation work
• Evaluate and review equipment purchase specifications, manufacturers’ proposals, and related documentation
• Inspect electrical, instrumentation, and control installations to confirm adherence to design and safety codes
• Review and approve as-built mark-ups for accurate project documentation
• Coordinate with Commissioning Manager to track pre-commissioning/commissioning checks and testing activities
• Prepare daily progress reports for Project Engineer/Manager, highlighting issues and concerns
• Assist in resolving technical challenges on-site during project execution
• Gather and integrate LNG Operations feedback to ensure engineering documents meet operational requirements
• Maintain effective communication and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Work independently with minimal supervision, managing time and project priorities efficiently

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years field experience (preferably 15+ years)
• 5+ years’ experience in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE); 11+ years I&C experience
• Experience with engineering in LNG, Power, or Oil & Gas plants (5 years preferred)
• 1–2 years’ experience with EPC contracts
• Background in planning/coordination of plant shutdowns preferred
• Cross-disciplined engineering and operational experience preferred
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
