- Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and team members
- Must have Journeyman certification
- Must have the minimum required tool set acquired within 90 days of employment.
- Must be willing and able to work in all seasons and conditions throughout the year and may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- 5+ years’ experience in construction or a related field is highly desired but must have solid working knowledge of commercial and residential electrical systems.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment tests (background and drug screen)
- Must be able to demonstrate attention to safety
- Must have effective time management skills
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving records to be insurable.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to work extended and varied shifts as required.
- Must be able to climb stairs, lift. bend, kneel frequently and stand for long periods.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, work with heights.
Primary Accountabilities:
The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. They must ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Additionally, they may be required to assist in troubleshooting electrical issues and implementing solutions. This opportunity will be a full‑time temporary position for the duration of 6 1/5 to 8 months.
Our Get Volts team (a subsidiary of Prairie Band, LLC) is hiring for an Electrical Journeyman for our Prairie Band LLC, Travel Plaza located on the 150 &75 highway outside of Mayetta, KS - currently under construction. Come join a winning team today!
Major Duties:
- Accomplishes electrical installation and maintenance objectives by performing tasks such as installing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment according to local and national electrical codes.
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including troubleshooting, and diagnosing issues.
- Has responsibility for upgrading existing electrical systems to meet current safety and efficiency standards.
- Follows all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Identifies potential safety hazards and takes appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Interprets electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute installations.
- Assists electricians as needed during installation and repair tasks.
- Coordinates with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Requires infrequent overnight travel.

The team maintains responsibility for general administrative support, human resources, network and communication systems, physical facilities, marketing, legal, and financial support functions.
The shared services team is involved in identifying and planning for the changing needs of the organization, shares responsibility with the appropriate senior managers for strategic planning and contributes to cost‑effective management throughout the organization.
