The Role
Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? Are you passionate about helping people and making sure things run smoothly?
Southeastern Equipment is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team and play a key role in delivering outstanding customer experiences.
You'll be the go-to person for customers bringing in their equipment for service. From greeting them with a smile to ensuring their needs are met efficiently and professionally, you'll be right in the middle of the action, coordinating between customers, technicians, and parts.
What You'll Do- Welcome and assist customers in the service department
- Listen carefully and document equipment concerns accurately
- Explain service options, pricing, and timelines clearly and confidently
- Schedule service appointments and assign tasks to technicians
- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely repairs
- Maintain detailed service records, invoices, estimates, and work orders
- Monitor shop supply inventory and reorder as needed
- Assist the Operations Manager with additional service tasks and projects
- Keep communication flowing smoothly between all involved parties
- Closing service jobs in 5 days or less
- Helping techs achieve $19K+ in billed work per month
- Hitting department income goals and 5S standards
- Maximizing billed versus overtime hours
- High school diploma or GED (technical training is a plus)
- Experience in a service or equipment-related role is highly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with inventory and computer systems
- Willingness to become forklift certified
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in a shop environment
- Valid driver's license
