Our client is a U.S.
-based contract manufacturer specializing in dietary supplements production and providing end-to-end services from concept and formulation through manufacturing, packaging, and distribution. They are looking to add a Lab Manager (Quality) to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$90k - $110k Annually (Based on experience)
The Lab Manager (Quality) will lead all aspects of laboratory operations, overseeing a team of chemists and technical professionals across the core pillars of the Quality Lab:
Microbiology, Identity Testing, Analytical Testing, Laboratory Administration, and Incoming Raw Materials. This role partners closely with external laboratories to manage outsourced testing and reporting while ensuring alignment with internal quality systems.
- Lead and maintain the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9000 and ISO 17025, including oversight of calibration, method validation, proficiency testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive root cause investigations, CAPA activities, KPI tracking, and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits.
- Oversee laboratory safety activities, quality-critical supply procurement, sample intake and retention, and accurate batch record documentation.
- Train, mentor, and support laboratory staff, quality inspectors, and plant operators on SOPs, GMPs, and GDPs, ensuring proper coverage and compliance across all shifts.
- Review and approve production batch records, manage material holds and releases, and support investigations related to customer complaints and quality events.
- Lead and develop the laboratory team, fostering accountability, scientific rigor, and alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
- Maintain consistent on-site presence, complete required training, and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum 5 to 7+ years of laboratory quality experience, preferably in nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, or pharmaceutical environments.
- Proven experience managing Laboratory teams and overseeing multiple functional areas.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9000, ISO 17025, and other relevant quality standards.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, and implementing CAPAs.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
- Hands-on problem-solving, analytical, and investigative capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline is required.
