Registered Nurse
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse's to join our Behavioral Health team. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care in a psychiatric mental health setting, ensuring that all nursing practices comply with professional standards and hospital protocols.
Qualifications:
Education:
* Requirement:
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN)
* Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Experience:
* Preferred:
At least 1-3 years of experience in psychiatric nursing
Certifications/Licenses:
* Required:
Current Florida RN License.
* Required:
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
* Required:
CPI certification
* Preferred:
Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
Professional Development:.
* Maintain required licenses/certifications, including Florida RN License, BLS certification and CPI Certification.
* Complete the Department of Children and Families (DCF) online Baker Act Training modules as indicated on instruction form given upon hire and submit certificates for each..
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Documentation:
* Perform comprehensive assessments of patients on admission and throughout their stay.
* Develop and implement patient-specific treatment plans.
* Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
* Document all patient interactions, treatments, and responses in accordance with hospital policy.
Medication Administration:
* Administer medications as prescribed, including PRN medications.
* Monitor patients for side effects and effectiveness of medications.
* Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration and patient reactions.
Patient Rights and Advocacy:
* Treat all patients with dignity and respect, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
* Ensure patients understand their rights, informed consent, and treatment options.
* Act as a patient advocate and provide non-judgmental, culturally sensitive care.
Teamwork:
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess and plan patient care.
Emergency Response:
* Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies, demonstrating strong decision-making under pressure.
* Manage challenging patient behaviors, including de-escalation techniques and maintaining safety in the unit.
