Job Description

Tech 2, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and operational reliability of the instrumentation and controls that support facility‑wide equipment, and facility systems through Preventive and Corrective Maintenance and Calibration practices and know‑how.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform intermediate instrumentation and controls troubleshooting, repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on all site equipment, systems, process measurement and control, utility, laboratory, and bench‑top instrumentation.
  • Perform calibrations to instrumentation and controls.
  • Follow standard procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) quality standards.
  • Provide input and recommendation for written instruction of preventive maintenance tasks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in the development of maintenance and calibration procedures and programs.
  • Perform loop checks for new instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Perform lock‑out tag‑out (LOTO) as required to complete I&C/Metrology activities.
  • Mentor entry‑level technicians.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and follow safe work practices.
  • Notify management or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found.
  • Support site operations and emergency work orders during off‑hours, as needed.
  • Perform spare parts assessments, as required.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Effective communication, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Must be able to support 24/7 manufacturing facility, including shift, on‑call, and weekends.
Required Skills
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2‑4 years of I&C or similar experience.
  • Experience with tools and equipment used to perform maintenance work.
Preferred Skills
  • Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or a related field.
  • Prior I&C experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or other regulated environment.
  • Prior experience working in a GMP environment.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Will work in environment which may necessitate respiratory protection (No / Yes).
  • May work in Mechanical/Production spaces that may require hearing protection and enrollment in a hearing conservation program (No / Yes).
  • Will work in environment operating a motor vehicle or Powered Industrial Truck (No / Yes).
  • May be required to operate a pallet jack.
  • Ability to discern audible cues (No / Yes).
  • Ability to inspect or perform a task with 20/20 corrected vision, visual acuity, including distinguishing color (No / Yes).
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc. (No / Yes).
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (No / Yes, 60 minutes).
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time (No / Yes, 60 minutes).
