Overview

Position Summary... What you ll do... Leaks if not cleaned, but core responsibilities include leading and developing teams, communicating business objectives, and driving store operations and customer service standards. The role involves teaching, coaching, touring stores, providing feedback, and leading change efforts. It also covers managing customer service initiatives, ensuring issues are resolved, and implementing action plans to improve the customer experience.

The position supports financial performance and sales for the designated store area through budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, while ensuring effective merchandise presentation and operational processes. It includes supervising and developing hourly associates, hiring, training, mentoring, and promoting a culture of belonging. The role requires coordination with stakeholders, monitoring progress, and driving continuous improvement while aligning with company values and ethics.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback; communicate and collaborate with all levels regarding store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts with clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards following the One Best Way (OBW) service model; manage and support customer service initiatives (e.g., community outreach) and resolve customer needs and complaints; develop action plans to correct deficiencies and drive process improvements for a high-quality customer experience.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing PL/Profit & Loss statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses; monitor merchandising, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; develop action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognition, and promoting a culture of belonging; recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans, communicating goals, and measuring progress toward results; identify improvement opportunities and promote continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support mission, values, and ethics by implementing action plans and applying Open Door Policy in business processes.
Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, a current state issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University;
    Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; and experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
