Surgical Technologist II - Operating Room; On-Call

Are you looking for a unique schedule and guaranteed weekly hours? This role offers a consistent two-week rotating schedule, on-call coverage, and a limited number of day shifts while guaranteeing 36 hours of pay each week, regardless of case volume. The schedule provides extended blocks of time off and opportunities to strengthen clinical skills in a fast-paced environment. You may pick up extra shifts based on departmental needs to increase flexibility.

• Must be able to report to work within 45 minutes when called in.

• Paid for all hours worked, including a minimum of 2 hours when called in.
• Eligible for shift differentials and overtime per policy.
• Guaranteed 36 hours pay per week; no separate call-back pay or on-call pay for non-working on-call hours.
• Fully benefited position.

UNC Rex Holly Springs has a robust surgical program with inpatient and outpatient procedures across multiple service lines (Orthopedics, General, GYN, Robotics, Neuro, Breast, ENT, Plastics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy). The Surgical Technologist II works with surgeons and RNs to promote patient safety and assist across service lines.

The Surgical Technologist II performs technical duties in operating room specialty services, maintains sterile technique, assists in case planning and instrument management, and supports team-based patient care.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED; graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing Program, or military training in Surgical Technology; or equivalent experience with 5+ years as a surgical tech.
• Licensure/Certification:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers;
  Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) certification.
• Experience:
  
  3+ years in surgical technology or related field.
• Skills:
  
  Strong communication and customer service, excellent organizational skills, ability to mentor others, on-call availability (as required).
