When completed, the Amgen FleX batch facility will combine the latest in disposable technologies with traditional stainless steel equipment to allow for maximum flexibility in operations. The FleX Batch facility will feature best-in-class drug substance manufacturing technologies with embedded industry 4.0 capabilities and will integrate sustainability innovations to reduce carbon and waste, as part of Amgen s plan to be a carbon-neutral company by 2027.

Role

Manufacturing Systems Engineer: BAS/QBAS

Responsibilities
  • Work with a group of automation engineers who are responsible for building and maintaining various automation systems and platforms that support the GMP Drug Substance Plant Operations.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities & Engineering Automation team to deliver robust automation systems for the new plant, including initiatives requiring understanding of multiple automation platforms and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain the Building Automation System (BAS/QBAS) on Siemens Desigo CC.
  • Work with process subject matter experts to understand key process requirements and transform them into digital automated solutions.
  • Collaborate with business partners to improve workflow and productivity through automation of utilities and building equipment systems; synthesize requirements from clients, customers, or end-users.
  • Provide clear documentation for delivered solutions and processes; support computerized systems validation in a GxP environment; maintain Data Integrity Assessments.
  • Maintain detailed specifications and engineering policies affecting multiple organizational units.
  • Support commissioning and qualification efforts including IV/ACO.
  • Support projects to integrate new drug substance manufacturing technologies into the facility.
  • Support technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshooting on utilities and BAS controls.
  • Support new product or technology introductions by performing automation assessments and supporting qualification runs.
  • Assist with Day-to-Day Operational Support including 24 x 7 onsite/on-call support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and spare parts management.
  • Maintain curiosity and seek innovative ways to improve business processes cost-effectively.
