Product Development Chef

Founded in 1990, Request Foods is a privately held, family-owned and operated frozen food manufacturer located in Holland, MI. We produce, package, and ship an assortment of frozen food entrees for Private Labels and National Brands for both the retail and food service markets. A Product Development Chef will be responsible for:

• Working closely with a team of other Product Developers as well as Sales, Quality, Procurement and Operations teams at Request Foods to formulated and develop frozen entrees in our test kitchens, often collaborating with Request’s contract customers.
• Product support in the manufacturing facility, commercializing and troubleshooting products.
• Creation and maintenance of formulas and processing procedures in our enterprise software system.
• A variety of other duties including determining nutritional content of formulations, ensuring accurate labeling for products, and presenting products at sales visits and regional food shows.

A Product Developer will posses the following qualifications:

• Have earned an Associate’s degree, or higher, in the Culinary Arts and/or Food Science discipline. Candidates must be passionate about food. A Bachelor’s degree in any field is preferred.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years experience in a professional culinary capacity.
• Minimum of 2 years experience of product development and commercialization responsibilities in an industrial food manufacturing environment.
• Be proficient in a variety of disciplines having strong mathematical, written and interpersonal communication skills which are essential to the success of the position.
