Summary: Manage the entire shipping process including receiving, material flow, and offsite warehouse operations. Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for improvement in the logistics process, and using analytical problem solving to drive solutions. Support UC philosophy focused on facilitating the growth of the organization, continually improving quality, and driving to a world class safety culture.
Duties and Responsibilities- Direct resources including labor allocation to meet customer demand.
- Collaborate with all departments to achieve company objectives.
- Manage the processing, investigation and resolution of freight claims with carriers.
- Track inventory losses and create strategies to reduce overall loss and improve inventory accuracy.
- Identify inefficiencies in the logistic process and drive improvements.
- Track project plan timeline and action for multiple projects at any given time.
- Assure process or product adheres to the company quality program.
- Manage freight expenditures and develop carrier base.
- Develop and mentor team to meet company objectives.
- Proactively analyze performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor the timely transfer of finished goods and stock/raw materials.
- Ensure proper identification and storage of materials.
- Ensure the efficient use of warehouse space.
- Conduct department meetings to communicate successes, shortcomings, questions, concerns.
- Assist with other duties as needed within the logistics department.
- Ensure cleanliness of the logistics warehouse.
- Follow UC Quality System-approved work instructions and procedures and help improve these as needed.
- Facilitate and reinforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- 10 years experience in warehouse operations, 5 being in a leadership role.
- Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work self-directed.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and effectively communicate and influence individuals who are not direct reports.
- Ability to multi-task successfully.
- Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Education: Four-year degree in related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of preferred degree.
