Overview
In this role, you will provide support and training for assigned consumers at their worksite. This includes hands-on work to assist a consumer with work pace and quality. Emphasis is on consumer learning and retaining employability skills and information to prepare for future independent work in the community. You will ensure quality by inspecting consumer assignments and provide supports for safety, social, behavior, and work skills.
Act as an advocate for assigned consumers to achieve their highest level of independence.
- Maintain confidentiality and consumer rights throughout all activities and assignments.
- Respect the individual dignity, rights, and privacy of each client.
- Develop positive rapport with assigned consumers by learning about their interests, skills, and abilities.
- Maintain a professional demeanor, with a focus on advocacy, respect, and demonstrating a strong work ethic.
- Track individual consumer productivity and maintain documentation.
- Prepare workspace for consumers.
- Verify consumer completed work to specifications.
- Monitor consumer production techniques for adherence to established work instructions.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all products and work instructions in order to train consumers.
- Develop and complete task analysis, training plans, and job coaching reports accurately and timely.
- Experience and understanding of people who have developmental/behavioral issues.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain harmonious relationships.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
- High school diploma / Equivalent.
- Clear criminal record.
- Ability to learn and pass all required training.
- TB Test.
- We require a minimum of one year of experience working with individuals if you do not have a minimum of one-year experience and are interested in working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness, we offer the proper training.
- Good communication skills, and the ability to maintain harmonious relationships with other people.
- Graduate from high school or equivalent.
- Successful completion of required training.
- Current Michigan Driver's License, auto insurance and transportation.
- Available for on-call shifts, flexibility with assignments.
- Clear criminal record.
