The Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining quality standards, ensuring product and process conformity with internal specifications and customer requirements, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will partner with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues and optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans, procedures, and metrics aligned with industry standards (e.g. ISO 9001).
- Conduct root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and follow-up to ensure resolution of internal and external quality issues.
- Perform data analysis using statistical process control (SPC) and other tools to monitor process performance and drive improvements.
- Lead internal and external quality audits; support certification activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Supply Chain) on quality planning, problem solving, and risk mitigation.
- Prepare documentation for customer submissions, PPAP, and other quality deliverables; interact directly with customers on quality concerns.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing quality role; experience with coatings, metal finishing, or related processes is a plus.
- Proficiency with quality tools and methodologies including 8D, FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) and audit practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
