The Payroll/Accounting Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll across multiple sites, and supporting accounting department with additional duties as needed. The position will be located onsite in our Otsego, MI facility, with occasional travel to Grand Rapids for training or other needs.
Responsibilities- Execute weekly payroll processing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Analyze, prepare, and input payroll data, deductions, adjustments and special pay.
- Provide responsive customer service to employees and managers regarding payroll inquiries.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues, delivering timely resolutions.
- Partner with HR teams to ensure accurate employee payments.
- Collaborate with finance/accounting teams to provide accurate reporting and reconciliations.
- Manage year‑end processes for annual payroll taxes and W‑2 preparation.
- Prepare consolidated journal entries.
- Process Accounts Payable invoices as necessary.
- Manage Vendor Credit Memo process.
- Responsible for other functions/projects as assigned.
- Education
:
Associate's degree in accounting. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will also be considered. - Experience with ADP Workforce Now highly preferred.
- Experience with MS Office, specifically MS Excel.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential records and information with discretion and integrity.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of General Ledger and Accounts Payable.
