Civil Construction Inspector

Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established Construction Management practice, and we are seeking a new Civil Construction Inspector to join our team. You'll perform inspections of construction contractor’s methods and workmanship to ensure that quality of work such as paving, traffic control, striping and signs, utility relocations, retaining walls, and overhead sign structures are in accordance with plans and specifications.

Preference will be given to those who have experience working ’ll be expected to perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

• Monitors project phasing and traffic control plans or airport closure plans and ensures compliance with approved safety standards inspects barricades
• Maintains a daily report of work in progress and status of completion and discusses construction related issues with client contact.
• Attends pre-construction meetings and answers questions from contractors and other attendees.
• Documents work progress and issues arising throughout scope of project.

• 5+ years in construction inspection experience, preference given to airport experience
• Required to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record
• Able and willing to work day or night shifts and/or flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project requirements.
• Ability to move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to read and interpret roadway, structure, paving plans and specifications
• Work under exposure to inclement weather conditions

• Local municipal construction experience
• Experience working on projects with multiple funding sources
• Experience with local, State and federal project guidelines
• Experience with Airport Construction means and methods

The base salary range for this position is $26.00 to $40.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
