The Invo-Progress us Team has a great opportunity for a SPED Teacher in Holden, MA.
Required Qualifications- Massachusetts DESE license in Special Education (appropriate grade level and severity)
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred - Knowledge of Massachusetts IEP process and timelines
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in inclusion, resource, or substantially separate settings
- Experience with students with autism, emotional disabilities, or learning disabilities
- Familiarity with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
The Middle School Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction and case management for students in grades 6–8 with disabilities. The teacher ensures compliance with IDEA
, 603 CMR 28.00
, and district policies while supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development during the middle school transition years.
- Experience working with middle school students
- Experience in inclusion and co-teaching models
- Knowledge of executive functioning and adolescent development
- Experience supporting students with autism, emotional disabilities, or ADHD
- Serve as IEP case manager for assigned students
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and Transition Planning (as applicable)
- Write progress reports and maintain accurate service delivery documentation
- Ensure compliance with timelines and procedural safeguards
- Administer and interpret educational assessments
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress
- Participate in eligibility determinations and reevaluations
- Collaborate with general education teachers in co-taught and inclusion settings
- Consult with related service providers (School Psychologist, SLP, OT, PT, Social Worker)
- Participate in Team meetings, parent conferences, and problem-solving meetings
- Communicate regularly with families regarding progress and concerns
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and positive behavior supports
- Participate in Manifestation Determination Reviews (MDRs) as needed
- Support students with emotional, behavioral, and attention-related needs
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings
- Support district initiatives and building-level goals
