Intern, Analytics

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Intern, Analytics to contribute to our digital transformation initiatives by applying machine learning and data engineering techniques to solve real-world business challenges. The successful candidate will work on developing proof-of-concept models and prototypes for automation, advanced analytics, and intelligent decision support.

This internship offers hands-on experience across the entire machine learning lifecycle, from data preparation and model building to initial deployment planning and application integration, all within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

* Data Acquisition and Engineering:
Work with internal data sources (Big Query, Cloud Storage) to acquire, clean, validate, and prepare structured and unstructured data for model training. Assist in designing simple ETL/ELT processes.

* Model Prototyping:
Implement and test foundational machine learning algorithms (e.g., classification, regression, clustering) to address specific business use cases, such as anomaly detection or prediction models.

* Generative AI & NLP Support:
Assist senior engineers in processing unstructured data from documents and text. This may involve using OCR tools, applying basic NLP techniques, and experimenting with large language models (LLMs) for tasks like text summarization or information extraction.

* API & Application Integration:
Build and connect RESTful APIs to serve machine learning model predictions and integrate them seamlessly with a simple demonstrator web application.

* GCP Deployment Learning:
Learn to use and assist with deploying models using Vertex AI, including managing experiments, versioning, and initial model serving configurations.

* Documentation and Reporting:
Document code, data pipelines, and model performance. Prepare clear, concise reports and visualizations to communicate findings and impact to the technical team.

The compensation for this position is $18 to $25 hourly. Base pay will vary depending on factors, including but not limited to a candidate's location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and work experience.

Qualifications

Education

Degree:
Masters

Experience

Solid foundational understanding of machine learning principles and statistical methods.

Proficiency in Python and common data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, scikit-learn).

Experience with SQL for data querying and basic data manipulation.

Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (preferably GCP) and core services like Compute Engine, storage, and databases.

Basic understanding of version control systems like Git.

Familiarity with unsupervised learning methods (e.g., for Anomaly Detection).

Coursework or projects involving Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Generative AI concepts.

Exposure to building simple APIs using frameworks like FastAPI or Flask.

Familiarity with web development concepts and one modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Vue.js) for building demonstrator applications.
