We are seeking a Sr Scientist CZT (Cadmium Zinc Telluride) Detector Systems & Integration Engineer to lead the hands-on execution and system-level integration of CZT-based detector technologies supporting SPECT image formation. This role bridges detector physics, electronics, calibration, and image formation, ensuring reliable, scalable hardware and software integration across prototypes and production-intent systems.
This position is based in Hoffman Estates, IL, with a competitive relocation package available for qualified out-of-state candidates.
** You are responsible for:
*** Integrating (Cadmium Zinc Telluride) CZT detector modules with front-end electronics, readout/DAQ systems, mechanical assemblies, and thermal structures to enable end-to-end system functionality.
* Supporting system-level alignment, grounding, shielding, and EMC requirements to ensure stable and compliant detector performance.
* Assembling, debugging, and testing prototype systems while troubleshooting complex issues across detector physics, electronics, calibration, and mechanical integration.
* Supporting energy calibration, charge-sharing correction, and stability characterization through data analysis and close collaboration with calibration and image formation teams.
* Serving as the technical integration interface across physics, electronics, calibration, and image formation teams to maintain system-wide consistency and alignment.
* Documenting procedures, test configurations, and lessons learned while contributing to design guidelines, standards, and best practices that support scalability and long-term sustainability.

* Minimum Qualifications:
*** MSc or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Hands-on experience with semiconductor radiation detectors (CZT strongly preferred), including system integration, lab prototyping, and debugging.
* Working knowledge of front-end electronics, data acquisition (DAQ), calibration methods, and performance characterization.
* Strong experimental skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex, interdisciplinary system issues.
* Comfortable translating theory into practical, working hardware.
* Pragmatic, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.
* Effective communicator across physics, engineering, and software disciplines.
* Able to work independently while providing critical technical support to senior engineers and leaders.
* Willing to engage with legacy systems while supporting next-generation platform development.

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
