OverviewPosition Summary
Gold Rush Gaming is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist with 7+ years of accounts payable experience to manage full-cycle AP functions and support the accounting team with journal entries, month-end close, and year-end close activities. This in-office role requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong accounting knowledge and accuracy.
Responsibilities- Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and timely vendor payments
- Review and ensure proper expense coding in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable and other assigned accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate AP aging reports and ensure liabilities are properly recorded
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
- Work closely with internal departments and vendors to address questions and resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and efficiency
- Provide guidance and support to other AP team members as needed
- 7+ years of hands-on accounts payable experience
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Experience assisting with journal entries, month-end, and year-end close
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in high-volume or multi-entity environments
- Prior audit support experience
- In-office position
- Standard business hours 9 am to 5 pm
