Position SummaryWalmart Connect is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Yield Monetization Analytics team focused on assessing and optimizing revenue and inventory utilization across all Walmart ad platforms. The leader will evaluate monetization performance, monitor auction health, and provide strategic recommendations to leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists specializing in yield, revenue, and inventory analytics.
- Oversee analysis of revenue metrics (Ad Spend, eCPMs, sell‑through rate, budget burn rate) and programmatic performance (bid density, clearing rates, auction floors).
- Evaluate pricing and bundling performance, including sales volume, pricing strategy successes, and value‑added incentives.
- Develop and implement frameworks to monitor and optimize ad inventory utilization and monetization.
- Identify and communicate trends, successes, and improvement areas in historical ad inventory performance.
- Advance yield management capabilities with accurate forecasts to guide pricing, packaging, sales strategy, operational planning, and advertising yield optimization.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering to evaluate product performance and inform larger strategies.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing business decisions.
- Stay current on industry best practices, market trends, and emerging technologies in retail media and programmatic advertising.
- Build productive relationships across the organization to drive Yield Strategy & Management reputation and influence.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Computational Biology, or related discipline).
- 4+ years of quantitative or data science experience.
- 2+ years of online advertising industry experience preferred with understanding of advertising KPIs.
- Deep understanding of retail media, programmatic advertising, and digital ad inventory management.
- Working knowledge of CRM and AdTech systems; experience with Ad Network/Ad Exchange/DSP/SSP preferred.
- Familiarity with marketing principles, advertising metrics, inventory forecasting, and digital advertising technology.
- Strong business communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in machine learning techniques and forecasting models, especially time‑series forecasting.
- Proficient in Python or R, SQL, relational databases, and business intelligence platforms (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data visualization skills.
- Familiarity with auction theory, dynamic pricing, and advanced statistical modeling.
