** Position Overview
** At Conoco Phillips, our Lease Operators, known internally as Multi-Skill Operators (MSOs) play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable oil and gas production across our Midland Basin assets. This field-based position offers the opportunity to work independently in dynamic outdoor environments, using your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to make a real impact.

As a frontline contributor to our operational excellence and safety culture, you’ll be empowered to make decisions, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure production targets are met all while driving innovation and continuous improvement in the field.

This is a safety sensitive position in Lea County, NM. In this role you will be required to live within a 75-mile radius of Carlsbad, NM. Click  to learn more about our operations in New Mexico.

Your responsibilities may include:
* Monitor wells and equipment to ensure optimal production performance and flow efficiency
* Inspect tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and pipelines to identify and prevent leaks or operational issues
* Gauge tanks to measure crude oil and water levels for safe and efficient transfers
* Operate and troubleshoot compressors, gas lift wells, sand traps, and flowback equipment
* Maintain chemical injection rates and execute well start-up/shut-in procedures
* Enter and validate production data in digital systems to support accurate reporting and decision-making
* Participate in facility walk-throughs, safety reviews, and regulatory documentation
* Update piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and site security documentation
* Respond to alarms and fulfill on-call duties to minimize downtime and resolve field issues
* Apply all safety, environmental, and company policies to protect personnel, assets, and the environment
