Our client is a leading energy company seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join their dynamic team in Hobbs, New Mexico. This is an exciting 12-month contract opportunity offering competitive compensation for professionals with 11-15 years of construction supervision experience. The role focuses on energy infrastructure projects with emphasis on route development, pre-construction planning, and contractor oversight.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical and budget/financial support for energy construction projects
- Review contract documents, plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications
- Monitor and oversee contractor activities for assigned work scopes
- Lead route development and refinement for energy transmission projects
- Conduct field visits to verify routing and support pre-construction preparation
- Apply value engineering concepts to optimize routing criteria
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Environmental Services, Legal, and Development
- Identify and evaluate routing risks with subject matter experts
- Navigate complex permitting requirements and regulatory compliance
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all organizational levels
- 11-15 years of construction supervision experience, preferably in energy/utility sector
- Strong understanding of route development and siting criteria
- Experience with cost analysis, engineering concerns, and environmental constraints
- Knowledge of value engineering and optimization methodologies
- Proven track record in contractor monitoring and project oversight
- Experience with permitting processes and regulatory requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform risk assessments and make trade-off decisions
- Detail-oriented with strategic vision capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Competitive hourly rate:
Up to $48/hour - 40 hours/week
