** Job Summary
** The Instructional Designer – FIPSE Grant Funded position provides consultation and support for instructional design strategies, assessment, technology‐enhanced learning, and distributed learning materials. This role is part of Dallas College’s AI‐Enabled Teaching and Learning Initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE). The position supports faculty across multiple disciplines in integrating AI literacy, emerging technologies, and research‐based pedagogy into curriculum and instructional practice.

The position is fully funded by the FIPSE grant from
* January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2029*, and continuation beyond this period is contingent upon additional funding.
** Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*** Expertise in program and course design principles.
* Proficiency with instructional design theories and development software.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work with subject matter experts and translate complex information into engaging instructional materials.
* Excellent writing, facilitation, and presentation skills.
* Ability to analyze issues, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
* Customer service focus and strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
* Demonstrated familiarity with emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools for teaching and learning.
* Ability to support ethical, responsible, and pedagogically sound integration of AI in coursework.
* Comfort with cross‐functional collaboration with faculty, industry partners, and subject matter experts.
* Strong project management abilities aligned with multi‐year, multi‐stakeholder initiatives.
* Ability to convert AI‐related or technical competencies into accessible learning experiences for students and faculty.

** Minimum Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s degree or higher in instructional design, education, educational technology, or a related field.
* Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in instructional systems design and development, educational technology, or similar.

*** Consult with faculty and administrators on curriculum and instructional design.
* Ensure alignment with Dallas College goals, standards, and compliance requirements.
* Provide guidance to faculty on course design, assessment, usability, and pedagogical improvement.
* Maintain awareness of current learning technologies and instructional design trends.
* Support faculty participating in the AI & Emerging Technologies Community of Practice (COP).
* Assist in redesigning courses to incorporate AI concepts, emerging technology skills, ethical use frameworks, and employer‐validated competencies. Collaborate on the application of instructional technologies and universal design principles. Contribute to faculty professional learning materials, implementation guides, and resource repositories associated with the FIPSE initiative.
