Shop Helper

Overview

Summary:

The Shop Helper provides support to the onsite Management and Technicians.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and organize the shop inventory of tools and parts
• Follow direction of and assist technicians with onsite work and in the shop
• Work independently on tasks assigned
• Deliver parts or equipment
• Assist with routine equipment maintenance and repairs
• Keep records of work hours and parts utilized and work performed
• Handle other requests from management on a timely basis

Global Responsibilities:

• Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position
• This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs

Qualifications:

Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional

Certifications:

• Working towards a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record

Skills/Abilities:

• Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn and take direction from others
• Highly disciplined, organized, strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Able to communicate effectively
• Effective problem solver

Working Conditions:

• Operation within a professional office environment and out in the field
• Subject to loud noise levels in some manufacturing facilities
• Routine usage of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs.
