Position Summary

Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds.

• Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
• Planning work by interpreting blueprints
• Determining welding position and type of metal to be fused
• Selecting and setting up welding equipment
• Ensuring welds meet standards and specifications
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
  Certificate or Associate degree in welding
• Minimum 1 year experience in welding

• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Team orientation
• Crane operation experience preferred, but not required
• Forklift operation experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Medium work Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Reaching Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
• Standing Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
• Walking Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
• Pushing Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward
• Grasping Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
• Visual The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes
• Visual The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures
• Job Conditions The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
