2nd Shift Structural Welder at Daifuku

Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds.

• Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
• Planning work by interpreting blueprints
• Determining welding position and type of metal to be fused
• Selecting and setting up welding equipment
• Ensuring welds meet standards and specifications
• Complying with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures
• Ensuring sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
  Certificate or Associate degree in welding
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in welding
• AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification

• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented
• Team orientation
• Crane operation experience preferred, but not required
• Forklift operation experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Medium work:
  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Standing: remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
• Pushing: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
• Grasping: applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
• Visual: close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
